The Walking Dead Season 5 Spoiler: Daryl Dixon Dies?!?
Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) gets killed in Season 5, or was "The Walking Dead" comic book writer and TV show executive producer Robert Kirkman just teasing with the fans when he dropped by Entertainment Weekly to talk about "Outcast," his latest horror comic book project?
Unlike Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and other show characters which are fan favorites, Daryl Dixon has no counterpart in the original comic series. However, that doesn't necessarily mean he can be easily dispensed or replaced. In fact, as played by Reedus, he has easily become one of the show's main attractions. For his performance as Daryl Dixon, Reedus got the People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Hero in 2014. Surely, AMC won't want people to get upset by killing off the character.
One thing Kirkman isn't kidding is that the first episode of Season 5 will finally show us what is really going on in the place called Terminus, the supposed sanctuary "where those who arrive, survive." Many have conjectured that the people of Terminus are cannibals judging by the pile of human bones seen in the last season.
Also, the Terminus folks won't be able to keep Rick Grimes and his gang of fellow survivors held captive inside the train car for much longer. As quipped by Rick during last season's final episode, "They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out....they're screwing with the wrong people."
Additional characters from the comic book will be introduced in Season 5 according to Scott Gimple, "The Walking Dead" show runner, possibly including Negan himself, the brutal main antagonist in the comic book series.
Morgan Jones (Lennie James) will also return next season. He was last seen in Season 3 still alive in King County.
"The Walking Dead" Season 5 first episode will air this October.
