Big Daddy Weave Hits #1 with New Single "Alive"
"Alive," the new single from Curb | Word Entertainment award-winning band Big Daddy Weave, has hit No. 1 at radio. The song tops both the Billboard Christian Airplay and Billboard Christian AC charts and adds yet another chart-topping song to their numerous career accolades.
"Alive" is the first single from the band's upcoming studio release, titled When The Light Comes. Slated to drop Sept. 13, a pre-order will begin this Friday. Further details will be announced shortly.
"Alive" was co-written by Zach Williams, Jason Ingram, and Jonathan Smith. Williams' own life direction was dramatically changed a few years ago after hearing Big Daddy Weave's "Redeemed." When Williams was a guest artist on a Big Daddy Weave tour, he shared his song "Alive" with the band during a bus ride to the next show. The band committed to recording the song on the spot.
Mike Weaver, lead vocalist for Big Daddy Weave, shares, "As the Lord used 'Redeemed' to touch Zach's life, He is now using a song that Zach wrote that so deeply speaks to where we are. This song came in its perfect timing, with us coming out of a hard life season and into a season of light."
Following three challenging years in the personal lives of members of the group, including the near-death of Jay Weaver, the passing of Mike and Jay Weaver's father on Christmas Day 2017, and the cancer diagnosis of their mother, the release of "Alive" represents a definitive statement of life for the band.
Big Daddy Weave is sharing the song, along with many of their hits and fan favorites, on "The Alive Tour." The first leg of the tour kicked off this past spring and is continuing across the country on its second leg now through November 24, 2019. The most updated tour schedule can be found here.
"Alive" has received more than five million demand streams to date and more than 2.1 million YouTube music video views. Click here to listen to the song and see the music video, which can also be viewed below.
Big Daddy Weave is the recipient of multiple industry awards and nominations, including RIAA-certified platinum certification for "Redeemed," Dove Awards, K-LOVE Fan Awards, Billboard Music Awards, ASCAP and BMI Awards, and the Rich Mullins Artist Impact Award.
