The 62nd GRAMMY Awards Nominees Announced
The nominees for the 62nd GRAMMY Awards have been announced. In the Christian music categories there were double nominations for Danny Gokey, Kirk Franklin and for KING & COUNTRY.
The 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held live on Sunday, January 26, 2020, in Los Angeles, CA and hosted by Alicia Keys.
for KING & COUNTRY's unprecedented collaboration with Dolly Parton on hit track "God Only Knows" has been nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, while the duo's full-length masterwork on which the song lives burn the ships received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
"burn the ships, in many ways, is the most meaningful album of our career," says Joel Smallbone, one half of for KING & COUNTRY. "We've had the distinct privilege to share this music by touring around the world over the past year, and seeing the songs resonate with so many people has been an extraordinary experience. One of the great honors in our career was when Dolly Parton told us that 'God Only Knows' was one of the best songs she'd ever heard. Our proverbial jaws hit the floor and have stayed there, and we cannot thank Dolly enough for her time, generosity, and that wonderfully powerful voice. She's truly a light. With all that said, this nod by our peers is an incredible year-end high."
TobyMac earns his 17th GRAMMY career nomination, with his latest project, THE ELEMENTS, gaining a nod for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
Mark Hall (Casting Crowns), Tauren Wells, and Zach Williams were among other artists receiving nominations.
