Melanie Penn Set to Release New Pop Album in 2020
Singer/songwriter, Melanie Penn, added Christmas joy to music fans this year with the release of her 2019 holiday project Immanuel: The Folk Sessions. The EP featured original songs based on the Christmas story, with a bluegrass vibe that was enhanced with Nashville musicians and the accompaniment of The Arcadian Wild Band. The record was eagerly embraced by the mainstream and Christian markets, with such high-profile coverage from the LA Times, Journal of Gospel Music, CCM Magazine, World Magazine, WAY-FM, Solutions Magazine, CRU and The Christian Beat among many others. Her performance videos for the EP also garnered coverage that included New Release Today and Spirit TV.
Penn toured throughout the states and in the U.K. and Scotland in support of Immanuel: The Folk Sessions. The tour launched in late November in her hometown of New York City and followed up with stops in Houston, TX, St. Paul, MN, Kansas City, MO, Grand Rapids, MI, Irvine, CA, Newtown, CT, Vienna, VA, before a final stop in Columbia, MO.
"I wrote the Immanuel songs during the loneliest Christmas I ever had, and now I get to connect with souls all over the country during the holidays," said Penn. "These songs continue to bring people together - both at the shows with one another and with me as an artist."
Penn is gearing up for a new Pop album release in 2020, with the first single "Don't Worry" receiving early coverage from Parade Magazine, Rome Reports, CCM Magazine, Last.fm, Louder Than The Music and Cross Rhythms. The new project will roll out continuously through 2020 and was produced by Nashville's Cason Cooley and Ben Shive. For continued updates on Penn visit her website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
