Jessica Simpson Weds Eric Johnson
Jessica Simpson Weds Eric Johnson
On Saturday, July 5, Jessica Simpson finally married long time beau Eric Johnson at the San Ysidro Ranch resort in Montecito, California. Simpson and Johnson have been engaged since November 2010. They have a 2-year old daughter, Maxwell, who acted as their flower girl during the wedding, and a 1-year old son, Ace, who served as their ring bearer.
The bride's father, Joe Simpson, a psychologist and an ordained minister, officiated the wedding. Sources said both Simpson and Johnson seemed nervous during the ceremony. Both flubbed their vows! Johnson choked up and had to repeat what he was saying. Simpson said her own name instead of addressing the groom.
The 33-year old Simpson reportedly wore a gold-embroidered, champagne-colored custom Carolina Herrera strapless gown with multi-layered skirt, a pair of Brian Atwood shoes and jewelry by Neil Lane.
Following the wedding, the couple released a brief statement to People magazine saying: "We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment. To say 'I do' in front of family, friends, and most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives."
People magazine won exclusive rights to the wedding photos, reportedly for $300,000 according to New York Daily News Confidential. Sources said guests were asked not to bring cell phones nor take photos during the wedding.
Guests were estimated at over 250 and included such celebrities as Jessica Alba, Topher Grace, Donald Faison, CaCee Cobb. The bride's sister Ashlee Simpson came with her fiancee Evan Ross. For their wedding favors, the couple handed guests leather tote bags filled with items which have been personally designed by Jessica.
According to Perez Hilton, the couple spent their wedding night at the Ty Warner cottage on the same grounds as their wedding venue. E!News says the entire cost of the nuptials may have reached approximately $1.4 million from start to finish.
