Jeremy Camp's Biopic "I Still Believe" Comes in at #1 at the Box Office
Lionsgate's I Still Believe comes in at #1 at the Box Office this weekend in the US. Directed by the Erwin Brothers, penned by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, I Still Believe is a Christian biopic about musician Jeremy Camp (played by Riverdale's KJ Apa) and his relationship with his first wife (Britt Robertson) who fell ill shortly before their wedding.
In light of all ongoing public health and safety concerns, Lionsgate's I Still Believe earned $4 million domestic through Friday, with $780,000 taken in during Thursday night previews. It averaged $1,231 per theater and opened in 3,250 theaters nationwide. I Still Believe not only did well at the Friday box office; it's doing well with audiences, too. The pic earned an "A" CinemaScore, the highest score of any new release this weekend.

I Still Believe follows Jeremy's life, including his marriage to his first wife, Melissa. Melissa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just before they were married, but the pair continued on with their relationship through Melissa's illness.
Nevertheless, I Still Believe is more than just a love story. At the core of Jeremy and Melissa's relationship is their belief in God. Their faith that believes that God is good and with them regardless of cancer and death.
K.J. Apa stars with Britt Robertson as Melissa and Gary Sinise and Shania Twain as Camp's father and mother. Lion's Gate and Kingdom Studios, the creators of "I Still Believe," are the same filmmakers who created box office hits "I Can Only Imagine" and "Moms' Night Out."
