Christian Duo Out of the Ashes Go Funky with "Pray that Prayer"

Out of the Ashes have partnered with Homegrown Worship to release a brand new song 'Pray that Prayer.' The song is an upbeat amalgamation of soul, funk and blues with wonderful groove and vibe. The melody of the chorus imprints itself in the listener while soulful backing vocals and bluesy electrics give the track a robust yet melodic ambience. Penny Lyon writes: "As Christians we are ever presented with other people who do amazing things to bring about God's Kingdom on earth - from Mother Theresa and Billy Graham in our recent pasts to Robbie Dawkins, Nick Vujicic and Heidi Baker among so many others today.

It is tempting to be plunged into inadequacy in the face of such seemingly towering giants, tempting to simply give up and leave the Kingdom effort to others. But God doesn't look at us and compare us with either Himself or each other - His plan is never quite the same for any two of us, but will nonetheless be challenging, exciting, fulfilling and perfectly tailor made for who we are.

He asks nothing more than that we Pray that prayer and walk that walk one step at a time."

Out of the Ashes is the creation of a pioneering husband and wife team from Gloucestershire - Penny Lyon and Kevin Washburn. You can either see them performing as a duo, or, for bigger venues, they may have anything up to a nine piece band accompanying them.

Using music as part of their mission to stand for joy, healing and worth in the church, God has put it on their hearts to energise weary Christians and ailing congregations with a message of love, hope and renewed possibilities.
