Derronda Williams is a dynamic worshipper who believes in equipping people to see God in themselves, and to know that Jesus is the answer to everything. She has just released her brand new album God First, which features the single "Alive in Me."
Williams writes: "God knew what he was doing when he took my pen and wrote these songs. For a time such as this... "

Growing up in the New York city area, Derronda developed a heart for outreach at a young age. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Boston College, and currently works as a high school counselor in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Derronda began writing music in 2014 and released her first single "I Know Who I Am" in 2019. This single is featured on her debut album God First along with her single "Alive in Me". Derronda served as the songwriter and executive producer on this project.
Derronda has a passion to see people reach their full potential and embrace their God-given purpose. She has served the Lord in numerous ministries as a worship leader, liturgical dancer, has co-led women's groups, and has been called to lead prayer at church services and national conferences. Within the past few years, Derronda has extensively studied and trained under pastors and apostles to gain a deeper understanding of worship and intercession; she has seen the fruits of this labor in her family and personal life.
Currently, Derronda serves in leadership at her local church in the music and arts department and young adult ministries. One key scripture that Derronda seeks to live by is "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
