Stephen Thomas Drops New Single "Too Close"
Stephen Thomas is a diverse urban inspirational and multi-genre recording artist from Charleston, West Virginia. As an artist, Stephen realized that his sound, style, songwriting, creativity, and ear for music was very unique, authentic, free, mysterious, but well put together.
Stephen released his debut album CHANGES in 2012. CHANGES boasted the break out hit "True Praiser - Hustle Hard" (featuring J. Robinson). Stephen followed up with a string of hit singles "Search Me Lord" (2013), "Best Days" (2016) which landed on the iTunes Hot Singles chart at #2, and "Like It or Not" (2017).
Over the last few years, life has been full of challenges and full of exciting victories for Stephen. After being involved in a tragic car accident a few months ago and seeing how many families, friends, and peers were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, he returns with new music and a newfound zeal for all things in life.
Stephen's new single "Too Close" was recorded a few years ago and held until the time was right for the release. The kairos time for Stephen to deliver an encouraging message of faith and perseverance through this song is now. "Too Close" is produced by Stephen's long time producing partner Reggie Hamlet (Tamar Braxton, Mario, Jennifer Lopez).
"This record was written from a heart of seeing so many people wanting to give up on life, knowing how hard they've worked over the years and still feeling like they've never gained anything," says Stephen. "And with our current global pandemic situation, this was such a call to action to release this new encouraging single."
"Too Close" has an old school vibe with Stephen's signature R&B swag. Stephen's lyrics remind listeners to look to the hills in which all of our help comes from and to not give up now because you are too close to victory and blessings.
"What I want fans to get from my music is to always understand that I am an artist that cares about the hearts of people," Stephen explains. "I want my music to inspire, motivate, and make you want to change your life to be better in every aspect of life. Whatever it is that you are dealing with in life I hope to have the right record to help you get through it. Whether it be love, relationships, life, religion, and more."
"Too Close" is available on all digital music outlets now. Stephen will have more new music coming this year and invites everyone to follow him and connect on social platforms @StephenTMusic.
