Promise Keepers, the men's ministry founded in 1990 by Coach Bill McCartney and known for their massive stadium events, is bringing the power of that stadium experience to homes, churches, universities, military installations, and prisons across the country and around the world through its first-ever online Global Digital Experience July 31 and Aug. 1, 2020. The event is being offered completely free of charge, but men must register to attend.
The two-day event will feature everything that men have come to expect from a Promise Keepers event - an authentic, Christ-centered experience with amazing keynote speakers, worship artists and special guests. Every element has been carefully assembled to produce a timely message of hope, unity, and transformation that will empower men to bless their families, strengthen their churches, transform their communities and reignite a new generation.
Promise Keepers has designed the Global Digital Experience to speak directly to the hearts of men, empowering them to live a life of integrity and find their band of brothers. Speakers like Tony Evans, Mark Batterson, John Eldredge, Luis Palau and Bob Goff along with artists like Michael W. Smith, Danny Gokey, Phil Wickham and Evan Wickham will connect men of all ages, unite men of all races, and invite all men everywhere to rise up, stand strong, and show the world what it means to be a man of God.
The session topics provide the shot in the arm men are really in need of right now, including:
- Marriage & Restoration
- Making Disciples
- Seeking Justice
- Building a Legacy
- Fatherhood
- Business
- Finances
- Dreaming Big
- Powerful Prayer
Ken Harrison, CEO of Promise Keepers, characterized the Global Digital Experience this way:
"The Promise Keepers Global Digital Experience is not a call for men to be more moral or more religious. It's a call for men to become godly. That comes from realizing that God will do the work if we just lay or pride and our sin at the cross of Jesus. He isn't asking us to clean ourselves up and turn to Him, He's asking us to come just as we are and He'll do the rest."
Evidence of the interest in the Global Digital Experience, both nationally and internationally, can be seen from stats:
- 45+ the number of nations represented
- 50: the number of states represented
- 6: the number of continents where the hundreds of simulcast sites are located-every content but Antarctica.
- Multiplied thousands: the number of men participating in their homes, either alone or with friends, family and neighbors.
When asked to explain this groundswell of interest on the part of men from the four corners of the earth, Dr. Steve Topper, COO of Promise Keepers, said:
"I think there are three main reasons men are signing up for this event.
"First, they really want to live lives of integrity that honor God, and they want to know how, and they want to know they're not alone. They're tired of being confused about what it means to be a good man, of being passive, disconnected, lonely and angry.
"Second, in this age of pandemic, recession, and uncertainty where many are under tremendous pressure, they long to be refreshed, inspired, and reignited in their passion for God.
"Third, because men sense that forces of division are seeking to tear apart society by race and region, they have the firm conviction that this is the hour for men to stand together, indivisible as brothers in Christ."
In advance of the Global Digital Experience, Vance Day, president of Promise Keepers, had these words of hope for Christian men everywhere:
"We are currently navigating through an unprecedented time in human history. Confusion and uncertainty run rampant through our communities. Men have forgotten whose they are. Children have been abandoned. Families have faded. Marriages have crumbled. And the hope we once knew seems to have been forgotten.
"But through the Global Digital Experience, God is writing a different story in the lives of men-one of forgiveness, freedom and a fresh start.
"God is at work to bring victory to His men, and as a result, we will see communities reignited, children restored, families reconciled, marriages redeemed, and men from around the world revived."
