Warm Bodies: Warming Up To The Idea Of A Zombie Listening To Music, Being Friendly And Even Falling In Love With A Human
Warm bodies is a movie for those who love zombie movies or just the dead that come back to life with no sense of who they are. The lurching, snarling, sniffing for human flesh and pouncing on people like their life depended on it which is ironical since they are already dead makes zombie awkward creatures.
Now, in most movies we expect that the walking dead are monsters that just want to tear off your brain and eat you up. This is not the case in this movie cause apparently this zombies are not as aggressive as the ones I have seen in other zombie films like the "The Walking Dead". They are a bit slow in thinking and the fact that there is one who seems to understand what, who or what he is makes me wonder if they are really zombies on this movie.
I must say that this is a different twist from what we are used to from other zombie genre. Since we have never known what happens in the zombies head or seen what happens through the zombie's point of view, I guess we are in a position to accept how this one's behave as they give a different side from what we are used to. "Warm Bodies" is well placed with great directing to a post-apocalyptic love story that brings out the life in the zombie.
It's nice to see a friendly zombie from what we are used to. The story is based on a young dead boy (who comes back as a zombie) who runs into a living human girl and he helps her stay safe from the other zombies. As they spend time together she seem to have a positive impact on him and bring back the life he had lost. The town was hit by some sort of disease that killed the town's people and turned them into zombies. Nicholas Hoult gives a superb performances as "R" the dead guy. He decided to call himself R since he does not remember his name after being dead though he is pretty sure that his name started with an R though. Spending time with Julie (Teresa Palmer) who is the girl in question makes him human again. This is achieved when he listens to some music with her and he tries to remember how his life was before all this happened.
This is a movie you won't get bored watching as it is very different from what you are used to especially when it comes to the usual zombie behavior.
