Being Human Season 4 (UK): Being Human Was Not As Easy As They Thought
With the supernatural drama coming to an end am sure everyone has their own view and sentiments about the whole story. Now I know we all have different expectations when it comes to season finales. Some people look forward to a happy ending while others look forward to an ending that makes sense depending on what they feel is the right ending for their favorite characters. As such I know some of you loved the ending while some of you hated it and I also know there are those who cared less. Either way you can never please everyone and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Personally, I think the ending was well played and planned. Now at the end of every series I like to hope that we always get and understand what it was all about. In this case my main question is did people really get what being human is all about? The series was a story of Aidan (Sam Witwer) a vampire and Josh (Sam Huntington) a werewolf who move in together into a new apartment as roommates and then later find out that they are being haunted by the ghost of a previous tenant Sally (Meaghan Rath). The three got through a lot of trials that make them realize that being human is not as easy as it seems.
It takes a lot to be human and they come to learn that love and sacrifice is one of the many aspects of being human. Always putting those you love ahead of your needs, loving your family despite of all the differences that may exist, learning from past mistakes and taking delight from the simple things in life like an innocent smile from a child or the beautiful rays of the sun at sunrise or dawn. I believe that the story did give all this to us and I feel that its purpose was fully fulfilled to its last episode.
For those who do not know how it ended, the season finale had Aidan and Sally together in the afterlife, Josh's lycanthropy curses him to be a werewolf all the time except the night of the full moon but Sally manages to free him after coming from being trapped between dimensions by Donna and she has magical powers, however it doesn't work exactly as planned and Josh's inner wolf is still present. Kenny heads the Boston Vampires and Josh and Nora have a family and they name their children after their fallen friends
In the end this story showed us that being human is not easy to supernatural creatures and they are also not that different from the human beings.
