Samsung Z : Samsung's Very First Tizen OS-Based Smartphone
Samsung have been in the electronics industry for quite some time now and over the years they have provided their customers with different devices especially when it comes to their phones. They recently introduced us to the new Samsung Z that was unveiled early June as the world's first Tizen OS smartphone. Now even though this phone was already unveiled it's still not available in the market at the moment despite the fact that it was meant to be released on July 10. According to Samsung the launch was postponed because Tizen does not provide full portfolio of applications yet.
Samsung did say that the Z should hit the shelves in some markets this quarter year with Russia being the country in which it will be first available. Samsung sees it as a test market of sort and will be launching an app challenge in that country so as to help the Tizen effort along.
When it comes to its features the Samsung Z looks very familiar to the other Galaxy S handsets from its logo at the top right down to the single physical home button at the bottom. Its back is covered in the familiar faux leather material you have seen in other Samsung devices. Its edges however, are sharper than the recent S5 with flatter sides and a far blockier appeal.
The phone is pretty solid with a 4.8 inch 720p HD AMOLED display that remains to be sharp and vibrant under the show floor's fluorescent lights. On the sides of the phone you find the power and volume buttons. The back camera is an 8 megapixel with LED flash while the front camera is a 2.1 megapixel. Other features include 16GB of storage, a generous 2,600mAh battery, a microSD card, and a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It also has a power saving mode, a heart rate monitor and fingerprint sensor.
We still do not know the price of this new phone but we think that it will be expensive considering the fact that it is the first of its kind.
