Channing Gillespie Wants to Meet People in their Suffering with "Weep No More"
Nashville based singer/songwriter Channing Gillespie released his new song "Weep No More." This new single as well as his hit released earlier in June "I Shall Not Want" are taken from his upcoming debut EP, This Night Won't Last Forever. Gillespie's desire to write songs of hope amidst the sorrow is a common thread throughout the project.
Written by Gillespie & Cody Summer, the song speaks about the fullness of joy we will have in Jesus for those of us who believe in him. "The goal of this project has always been to meet people in their sorrow and suffering," Gillespie revealed. "I pray that this song is some encouragement to you as you walk through the valley. What joy to know that a day is coming when he will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Come soon, Lord Jesus!"
For Gillespie, the last year and a half to two years has been one of the hardest seasons he and his family have walked through. Gillespie says that many of these songs were written for his wife and family during a season of loss. Gillespie's wife, Jessica, has lost three family members in a two year period. He says that, "We needed these songs. They have walked closely with us through our grief."
This Fall, Gillespie will also be on road. "I am excited to get out on the road this Fall and share these songs with you! Over the next few months, I have a handful of shows lined up and I'm looking to fill in some dates! I would love to connect with you and plan an event."
