Tim McGraw Interview About His Slapping the Woman at July 2014 Tour Concert, See Here (VIDEO)
Tim McGraw was caught in a scandal over the weekend when video footage leaked online from TMZ of him slapping a woman at his concert in Atlanta after she grabbed onto his jeans. His initial removing her hand from his leg was expected, but he then made eye contact with her and slapped her in the face. The second reaction is what has many people not pleased with how McGraw handled the situation. You can check out the video above for yourself.
"Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on," the 47-year-old singer told ET Canada.
"I think it was an unfortunate situation I think all the way around. But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on," Tim shared. "It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there's nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There's nothing to be said about it."
Tim McGraw led the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards nominations with seven along with Miranda Lambert.
McGraw had 11 consecutive albums debut at Number One on the Billboard albums charts. Twenty-five of his singles hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts. He has also won three Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music awards, 11 Country Music Association (CMA) awards, 10 American Music Awards, and three People's Choice Awards. His Soul2Soul II Tour with Faith Hill is the highest grossing tour in country music history, and one of the Top 5 among all genres of music.
