Jamie Kimmett Offers An Update After Car Accident
Scottish singer and songwriter Jamie Kimmett was involved in a major car accident last Friday while driving home from a concert in Arkansas. He was hit by an 18 wheeler truck and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Kimmett has offered an update about his current situation.
He writes, "PRAISE GOD!! HE HAS SPARED MY LIFE BY A MIRACLE! So grateful to be alive and so grateful for every one of you who have prayed for me, sent messages, left comments and donated at this time. Your kindness and support is overwhelming!"
Currently, he is recuperating at home. "I am now at home and miraculously have zero broken bones or internal damage! I have painful cuts, bruising, stitches, muscle/joint pain and still picking glass & concrete off my head and body...but given the odds of survival this is truly amazing. Please pray my left hand and thumb (Guitar chord hand) in particular will heal as its badly cut and stitched up."
However, Kimmett is hit by a hefty medical bill. "We just received the first medical bill which is currently $27,833.98. This is the initial hospital cost and does not include the physician, helicopter airlift and other expenses so your amazing generosity to the GoFundMe is greatly appreciated..i can't thank you all enough. I wont be on here too much as i need to rest but i just wanted to say massive thank you to you all. I guess God is not done with me yet. OUR GOD REIGNS!"
You can help Kimmett by visiting his GoFundMe.
Kimmett has already a staple at radio with his first top 10 radio hit, "Prize Worth Fighting For," and he's making a name for himself on the road. He's also shared the stage with Zach Williams and for King & Country, and is now on tour with Casting Crowns through the fall.
Yet, Jamie Kimmett's story is a unique one. He's been honored to work with some of the biggest names in the music industry - Steve Porcaro (Toto band member, songwriter of Michael Jackson's "Human Nature"), Randy Jackson ("American Idol"), Babyface (Al Green, Whitney Houston, Bruno Mars) - and he sang on demo tracks for Michael Jackson. He was even offered a coveted record deal, but he turned it down.
