Sean Feucht Loses Book Deal with HaperCollins
Worship leader, political activist and speaker Sean Feucht claims that book publisher HarperCollins has dropped his book deal over his "political views." HarperCollinsis is one of the Big Five English-language publishing companies, alongside Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Hachette, and Macmillan. The company is headquartered in New York City and is a subsidiary of News Corp.
Feucht writes on social media, "Just got a call from my publisher @HarperCollins that they are canceling my book because of my political views,." He asserted. "This is nuts!!"
In his latest video, Feuch claimed that he had worked been working on the book for the last three months. "Signed an agreement with the second-largest publisher in the world, HarperCollins. We've been working on it for three months together. [I] have an agreement, had it signed, pretty far into this process, and was just notified today. They're canceling it."
Meanwhile, HarperCollins claims that they have never signed a contract with Feucht. The book was supposed to re-count Feucht's testimony especially in the way he forged through the pandemic with God's help and grace. "Why is there so much resistance to this message? The premise of the book is about boldness and courage. I'm sharing about our journey in the last couple of years, and how the Lord forged this thing in us through many different layers of resistance. So I just thought it was so ironic that, that they would cancel a book on boldness and courage because they didn't have the boldness and courage to publish it," Feucht maintained. "The irony is so rich here."
Throughout his career, Feucht has had founded a number of movements. "Burn 24-7" is a global worship and prayer movement launched out of Sean Feucht's dorm room in college, now spanning 6 continents and more than 250 cities. "Light A Candle" is a global missions and compassion movement bringing light, hope, healing, and tangible love to the hardest, darkest and some of the most isolated places on earth. "Hold the Line" is a political activist movement seeking to rally the global church to engage in their civic duty - to vote and stand up for causes of righteousness and justice in the governmental arena.
Feucht has produced, recorded and released over 22 music albums, co-authored 5 books, created numerous teaching resources, developed an online school, and has ignited several global missional initiatives.
