The Inaugural Quartet Music Awards took place with a packed audience in the Center Stage Theater. Quartet fans, artists, and groups from around the country enjoyed an exciting night of music that ignited an atmosphere of praise. A new generation of singers and musicians gave electrifying performances, and legendary artists proved again why they have achieved their legendary status in the genre of Gospel Quartet.
QMA Chief Executive Officer D. Chubbs Morton created the QMAs to celebrate the heritage and the future of Quartet music. With only six months of planning, the event was more than a success and is being noted as a "game-changer" for the genre.
"WOW....WOW and WOW is all I can say! God allowed the first-ever Quartet Music Awards to happen!" says D. Chubbs Morton. "This is a day I will never forget. From the staff and artists to the presenters and the ticket buyers, you are why the inaugural QMA was a success, and for that, I say THANK YOU!"
Morton continues, "The best part about this night was seeing Quartet as a whole come together from all across the world and show nothing but UNITY. From the beginning to the end, we proved that the narrative has changed for Quartet music and we are moving up from here. To God Be The Glory!"
The Quartet Music Awards (QMAs) handed out sixteen awards and bestowed QMA Honors to eight trendsetting Quartet icons. According to Connie Birth, Chief Operating Officer for the QMAs, there were individual winners, but the event was a win for the Quartet industry because there had never been a genre-specific awards show of this caliber.
"I'm blown away and in complete awe of how God did this," says Connie Birth. "To see the honorees, legends, artists, and guests walk the red carpet in their gowns and tuxedos was everything to me! Once we were all seated and the lights came up, I could barely see through the tears...I was so happy and my first thought was, We Did It - this is for us! There was such a sweet spirit in the place. A spirit of jubilation and unity! The smiles and applause for every artist who graced the QMA stage were so genuine. It was indeed a night to remember, and history was made!"
Still humming off the thrill and excitement of the night, Morton and Birth are pleased to announce that the QMAs will return for another amazing night on June 24, 2023. The second annual Quartet Music Awards promises to be bigger and better. Get ready for another great experience with the QMAs!
