Apple iPad mini 3 Will Be Released This Fall and Will Be Called the "iPad Mini Air;" Boasts Shocking Thinness, High Retina Display, A8 Processor, and Many More All-New Features
A report was recently released stating that the new iPad mini 3 will be launching sometime before Christmas of this year. Taiwan's Daily Economic News had the scoop (reportedly from Apple itself) on this newest Apple product. It is believed to be 30% less thick than the current iPad mini, and it will be called the iPad Mini Air. Many are skeptical as to the alleged thinness of the gadget, since the new Retina screen caused the iPad Mini 2 to increase .3mm in size from the original iPad mini.
It will also possess a totally new A8 processor and a 64-bit system on a chip, and will most likely feature iOS 8. Other rumored features include an 8 MP camera unit, a waterproof exterior, and a split-screen function. These rumors have yet to be set in stone by Apple.
Many rumors have already been leaked regarding the newest Apple product. Sources claim that it will feature a more enduring Touch ID sensor, as well as retaining its 7.9 retina display. The screen will feature a resolution of an incredibly sharp 2,048 x1,536 pixels.
There is no news on the price of the gadget as of yet, but it is safe to say it will not exceed $50 more than the price of the original model iPad mini. There are several other Apple products slated to be released sometime in the next few months. The second generation of the iPad Air is due to come out soon, as well as the heavily-rumored iPhone 6.
It's practically a given that Apple will want these devices released before the Christmas season begins, so we can probably be on the lookout for gadgets such as the iPad mini 3 around late September or October.
