Taylon Hope Reveals Why She Wanted to Record "Silent Night"
Taylon Hope has released a cover of the seasonal Christmas song, "Silent Night," The song was penned by Joseph Mohr and was first recorded in 1905. The popular Christmas carol has remained a popular success, appearing in films and multiple successful recordings, as well as being quoted in other musical compositions. Download and stream the Taylon Hope version on all digital music platforms at silentnight.
"I chose to release this acoustic version of 'Silent Night' this Christmas season because it has always been one of my favorite classics to listen to and sing along with. I grew up singing this song in Church at Christmas time since I was little so it has always been very special to me," shared Taylon Hope. "This song has always shown the true meaning of Christmas and I am very excited to get to release my version of it this year."
"It is always enjoyable making Christmas music with Taylon and this year she chose a beautiful, stripped-down version of a traditional song that features her angelic voice and the purity of the message! I hope everyone enjoys it," stated producer, Kent Wells.
"Silent night, holy night
All is calm and all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from Heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing hallelujah
Christ the Savior is born
Christ our Savior is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God
Love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus Lord at thy birth
Jesus Lord at thy birth
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Christ the Savior is born"
This cover is the favorite Christmas classic song Taylon has released to date. She hopes listeners love the simplicity of it being acoustic, as this is the first time she has released a recording of this type. Throughout Taylon's career, she has always loved creating new Christmas ones together with her producer, Kent Wells, and this version is very special as it builds and creates a new feel to the original classic. Even though this song is heard every Christmas season, she wanted to make this beautiful song her own and put a different spin on it.
"Silent Night" was recorded by Kent Wells at Kent Wells Productions, Nashville, TN and mixed by Kevin Willis.
