Amy Grant to Receive a Kennedy Center Honor
Contemporary Christian and pop singer-songwriter Amy Grant is excited to announce that she will be receiving a Kennedy Center Honor. The Kennedy Center Honors are annual honors given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. They have been presented annually since 1978, culminating each December in a gala celebrating five honorees in the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C.
Grant will be featured on CBS Mornings on Monday (Dec. 12) after becoming one of the 2022 Kennedy Center Honorees. During the segment, Grant will give an in-depth interview with Vlad Duthiers, marking the first in a series of profiles on the Kennedy Center Honorees, including acclaimed actor and filmmaker George Clooney; legendary singer of soul, gospel, R&B, and pop Gladys Knight; Cuban-born American composer, conductor, and educator Tania León; and iconic Irish rock band U2, comprised of band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.
Grant recently posted a video recap on her socials, commenting: "I'm still processing the whirlwind weekend at the Kennedy Center Honors. Somewhere in the telling of each of our stories and accomplishments, with laughter and tenderness, through the lens of friendship and connection, we all experienced the unifying impact of the ARTS in its many forms. Hats off to the Kennedy Center team for curating such a spectacular event that created a lifetime of memories."
The Kennedy Center Honors will air December 28th at 8pm ET on CBS.
