Jeff Grant, Veteran Gospel Radio Executive, Dies
Veteran Gospel radio promotions executive, Benjamin Jeffrey Grant-Clark, transitioned after a lengthy illness on Friday, March 3, 2023.
B. Jeffery Grant-Clark, affectionally known as "Jeff," was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend beloved by so many. His loss is felt deeply throughout the Gospel music industry. Jeff started his radio career in his hometown of Buffalo, NY, at WUFO, first as an on-air personality, then as a program director. Jeff emerged as a proficient music producer, writer, and arranger throughout his radio career, penning songs for some of the gospel world's most notable artists.
Jeff went on to work as Northeast Promotions manager at Warner Brothers Records. After over a decade in the mainstream music world, he returned to his gospel roots when he joined gospel label Verity Records (now RCA Inspiration).
For 18 years, he contributed to the label's growth, serving as Vice President of A&R and Radio Promotions. He was honored to have been instrumental in the successful careers of Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Pastor John P. Kee, Bishop Marvin Sapp, and countless others.
Just before he retired from RCA Inspiration, Jeff took on the role of author in 2017. Through his photographic acumen, he captured his love for the people through his camera lens and published his first book, "Faces of Praise," in conjunction with Carol M. Mackey.
Jeff was blessed with an incredible family he adored, and his legacy will continue through his six grandchildren and his three 'kidults' Dawn Reneé, Damone, and Melanie. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 43 years, Annette.
