Amy Grant Will Make Her First Community Appearance Since Her Accident

Amy Grant will be making a special visit to students in Los Angeles this Saturday to join in the planting of  a commemorative tree in celebration of Earth Day 2023 with Pepperdine University. Grant will then sing in an intimate performance of her newest single, "The Trees We'll Never See." 

This will be Grant's first community appearance since her accident. Last July, Grant was hospitalized after a bicycle accident, which occurred near the Harpeth Hills Golf Course in Nashville and left her unconscious. She was transported to the emergency room at Vanderbilt Medical Center with several cuts and bruises. Medical reports say Grant did not sustain any major injuries, and she was wearing her helmet at the time of the accident.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2023 is Invest In Our Planet. 

"Trees We'll Never See" was written by Michael White and Marshall Altman (who produced her critically-acclaimed album, How Mercy Looks From Here). Grant will release another new song this spring, which will be announced soon. 

"So much creativity has been put on hold in my life for all kinds of reasons," shares Grant when talking about the new music. "Last summer, I was asked to sing on a new Cory Asbury song yet to be released. This might be one of the best songs I have heard in a long time. I was so glad they waited for me to heal up and get back to the studio.

"Inspired by Cory's beautiful song, Marshall Altman and I started talking about songs that we've written recently that affected us. I played him one of mine. He played me one of his. His song was 'Trees We'll Never See.' I loved it immediately and asked him if I could record it, and within two weeks, both songs were mixed & mastered!"
