Anna Golden Encourages Listeners to Worship with Childlike Wonder with "Church"
Dallas-based rising artist Anna Golden announces her new live album Church, out 8.11 via Tee Lee Records/Capitol CMG. In tandem with the announcement, Golden shares the record's opening track and first single "At The Altar."
Golden grew up attending church in her hometown of St. Louis, MO, and she would often listen to her parents write and perform worship music in her youth. As a kid, she seemed destined to join her older siblings with a career in show business, landing consistent work at mainstream outlets.
However, she wanted to shift attention and the pressure to be perfect away from herself. She felt a calling to lead ministry at her church full-time, and she began leading a worship group herself and independently releasing her own music by age 18. Golden's career took off after being connected with Tasha Cobbs Leonard, eventually becoming the debut signing on the GRAMMY-winner's label Tee Lee Records and earning a feature on her song "Wonderful Grace."
Now, on Church, Golden encourages listeners to approach their worship with a childlike wonder and eagerness in a time where deconstruction is so prevalent, reminding them of the church they grew up in and their foundations of faith. She achieves this by blending elements of pop, rock, gospel and contemporary music to create 11 powerful worship anthems that are accessible to a new generation and contain a palpable passion fit to fill an arena. Golden's pure, melodic voice soars over lush instrumentation, and she supplements her heartfelt lyricism with her talent for ministry through unique interpolations of scripture passages.
"At The Altar" opens the album on an uproarious note and serves as a booming invitation for listeners to open their hearts up to the church and spiritually join hands with Golden across the album's 11 tracks.
