Pat Barrett Reminds Us of God's Sovereignty with "Better Hands"
Worship leader and respected songwriter Pat Barrett releases a fresh new song, "Better Hands," available today. Listen here to the new song about fully trusting God and leaving our worries in His hands.
"I've been learning to cast my cares on God and just releasing them - not holding on too tightly," shares Pat Barrett about the inspiration for "Better Hands." "I'm learning to not grasp and clutching onto things I can't control. I know it's easier said than done, but the invitation is always there (and I'm pretty well acquainted with what life feels like when I keep my cares and concerns in my own hands...it's not pleasant, to say the least.)."
As the songwriter that has penned worship anthems such as No. 1 Billboard Christian Airplay and Billboard Christian AC radio single, "Build My Life," "The Way (New Horizon)" and 2023 GMA "Song of the Year" nominee and No. 1 song, "Same God," Barrett continues to impact the church with his songs. He has also written on 23 songs on the current CCLI Top 2000 chart. Co-written by Barrett, Mack Brock, and Mitch Wong, the "Better Hands" live in-studio video also premiered on YouTube today - click below to watch.
Barrett continues, "The scriptures remind us that the hands of God that formed the world (Psalm 95:5) and made us (Psalm 139:13) and meet our needs (Psalm 104:28) can be trusted every day. So on the days when trust feels easy, I've been singing this song as a hymn of joy. And on the days when it feels like even a seed of faith is hard to come by, I've been singing this song as a reminder of the truth: that this is in better hands than my own."
Following his own "Acoustic Nights" tour this spring, Barrett will join Chris Tomlin on his fall "An Evening of Worship with Chris Tomlin" tour. Click here for all of Barrett's tour dates for 2023.
