We The Kingdom Releases Animated, Vintage-Inspired Video for “Christmas In Hawaii”
We The Kingdom releases the animated, nostalgia-inducing video for their latest "Christmas In Hawaii," which is just as feel-good as it is philanthropic - a portion of the song's proceeds are set to go to Maui nonprofit, the Kahākūkahi Foundation.
Reminiscent of the stop-motion, festive movies from the '60s and '70s, the official video for the feel-good track follows along as a claymation Santa finds himself in a nutty situation, stuck at the top of a coconut tree, while attempting to make his island deliveries. Created by Juan M. Urbina and Venturia Animation Studios, the vintage-inspired visual is a hybrid of 2D classical animation and stop-motion, featuring hand-drawn animated characters of each of the five band members, shot frame-by-frame.
The group actually wrote the song for fun earlier this year, having no plans to release it this holiday season. However, when the devastating fires happened in Maui earlier this year, this merry track suddenly turned into much more, becoming the perfect way to give back. A portion of all proceeds will go directly to the Kahākūkahi Foundation, a Maui nonprofit that has spent more than a decade focusing on the children of the island, educating them about ocean safety and providing a safe place to learn about culture during regular events in West Maui. Fans can donate to their efforts HERE.
Known for their genre-transcending ability to seamlessly blend elements of rock, country and gospel into their music, We The Kingdom is comprised of brothers Ed Cashand Scott Cash, Ed's son Martin Cash, and close family friend Andrew Bergthold, who all came together as musicians during a life-changing Young Life experience. With a name that has become synonymous with dynamic live performances, We The Kingdomkicked off their headline holiday tour, 'A Family Christmas Tour,' with Matt Maher last night in Macon, GA. The trek continues through December, and fans can purchase tickets and keep up with what's to come from We The Kingdom by visiting wethekingdom.com.
