Boasting a lineup of genre-spanning special guests, Sacred Surrender is set to bow March 22 from Dove Award-nominated singer/songwriter Jaime Jamgochian.
Featuring collaborations with some of the artist's longtime friends and peers, including beloved trio Selah; singer/songwriter Ginny Owens; Christian radio favorite Citizen Way; Southern Gospel standout Joseph Habedank, and The Belonging Co worship leader and singer/songwriter Andrew Holt, Sacred Surrender marks Jamgochian's first release in nearly four years.
With 10 tracks all co-penned by Jamgochian, the album features songwriting contributions from Kenna Turner West, Citizen Way's Ben Calhoun, Rebekah White, Jay Speight and Selah's Todd Smith, among others. Sacred Surrender was produced by Andrew Bergthold (We the Kingdom), John Strandell, Tommy Iceland (Poets & Prophets), Chris Bevins, and Mckendree Tucker.
Hallmarked by Jamgochian's effervescent vocals and memorable melodies, Sacred Surrender opens with "Gonna Be Good," a joyful pop anthem encapsulating the project's mission. "The overall theme of the record is surrender-letting go and choosing to live an abundant life, even in the empty spaces," she shares. "Surrender is the only path to peace, relinquishing what we want and totally trusting that God's got it, even when we don't see it."
"I want to see people encounter the love of God in these songs," Jamgochian adds. "I want them to feel hope, because when I first met Jesus, that's what I felt. I didn't know the Bible that well, but I felt hope. I felt peace like I had never known."
Sacred Surrender is punctuated by an array of standout collaborations, including "Coming Back Again (Holy, Holy, Holy)" with Citizen Way; "Our Father," an impassioned anthem featuring Selah and inspired by The Lord's Prayer; the buoyant "If God Wrote A Song" with Joseph Habedank; the Andrew Holt-featured "Visions," a prophetic ballad that was among the first songs Jamgochian led in worship after becoming a Christian; and the compelling "By Heart," an affirmation of God's faithfulness showcasing Ginny Owens.
The poignant title-cut rounds out the project, Jamgochian's stirring personal declaration offering a fitting final sentiment: "So take my life/I'm giving it all to You/Whatever You want me to do/ I'm gonna follow You."
"The older I get, I don't want complicated; I want simple faith, simple trust in God, and simple songs that people can easily sing over and over again," she explains. "I want to write faith declarations that move people closer to God and move them out of fear into faith, out of anxiety into peace, and out of emptiness into abundance."
