DVD Movie "Finding Hope Now" Takes Faith to the Streets; Watch Movie Trailer Here
Vertical Praise Productions will be releasing on DVD on Agust 19, 2014 the movie "Finding Hope Now." This movie is based on a powerful true story that revolves around Rev. Roger Minassian (played by Michael Badalucco, Emmy Award Winner "The Practice"). Rev. Minassian left a steady pastorate at the age of 53 in order minister to gang members in Fresno, California. He faces tough attitudes, hardened young men, and violence as he goes after the gang members with a mission, to turn their lives around. He manages to reach some of the young men but must endure some losses along the way, including those who die violent deaths.
As Minassian was ministering to the gang members, he met Santos Delgado (played by Avan Jogia, Nickelodeon "Victorious", ABC Family "Twisted"). Unable to withinstand his dad's cruelty, Delgado at age 16 left home and live on the streets. The lives of the two men intertwine as Roger Miassian learns to become a father to the fatherless and Santos Delgado struggles to find a new life.
With 1.4 Million active gang members and over 33,000 gangs in the United States, this movie brings to our awareness our need to minister to the young people who struggle day by day under the oppression of drugs, peer pressures and crimes living on the streets. Further, part of the film Net Proceeds Benefit the Hope Now for Youth Organizations.
Moreover, a complete Four Week (English or Spanish) Bible Study based on the movie is available as a Free Download
Use this bible study as tool in your church and home groups, or even individually. Take time to think about and pray about what you are learning and what the group will learn. Remember the two goals of producing the DVD in the first place: to understand what family situations create gang members, and to think about how your group or church might impact the gang members of your city with the hope of the Gospel.
