Mike B Berry Reveals the Journey that Led Him to His New Single
A capacity crowd was on hand to celebrate the new single from Houston native and emerging rhythm and praise artist Mike B Berry this past Good Friday. Berry shared his story about God's goodness as the prevailing factor in his life and how we can never go wrong if we allow God the chance to direct and order our steps.
In the midst of an uncertain future, Mike B. Berry has grown to place the weight of his faith and trust in the Lord. He has been afforded many opportunities to trust God, especially when it seemed things were breaking into chaos. God sustained him through it all, and today, his life bears witness to his testimony through lyrics and songs.
Mike's early life began in a home full of love with parents who both sang and preached the gospel. Mike and his siblings would follow in the family profession with Mike's becoming a part of his brother's quartet and later, singing alongside his sister in their contemporary group. His musical styles and influences were wide as he studied the musicality of many different artists, both in and outside of gospel, including Kirk Franklin, Tupac, Nas, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, and others. The untimely demise of Mike's father dealt a tragic blow with long-range effects impacting the entire family.
Death would soon revisit their home, with Mike losing his mom and a sister within 3 days of each other's passing. The tragedy and trauma of dearly departed loved ones was formidable and even unbearable at times; Mike's faith was tested. Feeling isolated and abandoned by God, Mike strayed from the foundation instilled in him through his parents' teaching. But through the prayers of the faithful and those who loved him, Mike found his way back,
Mike poured his energies into music, composing songs with underlying bible principles encapsulated in an urban contemporary setting. His music is a reflection of his life experiences and the redemptive work of salvation through a life committed to Jesus. "I always want people to find God as they relate to him. God speaks to us through our circumstances. That's how we draw closer to him. That's the basis of my music." Audiences have gravitated toward his unique presentation with his previously released "We At War" music video viewed over 16,000 times in less than 6 months. Berry is also the recipient of multiple awards from the Rhythm of Gospel and TGMEA awards.
"Something Good About To Happen" is his latest offering and is impacting radio already. Mike B Berry is on a mission to bring life and light to the people of the world through the power of music. This passion permeates his very existence and gives the world a chance to know the artistry of Mike B Berry, the award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-genre producer.
