Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s Legacy Lives on in Powerful New Documentary, "Multiplied"
Few have made an eternal impact on the Gospel like famed evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. Founder of Christ for All Nations ministry and dedicated to bringing the Gospel to the lost in Africa, Bonnke's ministry saw an estimated 75 million people come to know Christ in a 30-year period before his death in 2019.
Bonnke's legacy is upheld through the work of his named successor Daniel Kolenda, a passionate evangelist and pastor who is unafraid to take the Gospel to every corner of the globe no matter the cost. Kolenda is the President and CEO of Christ for All Nations, has published over 190 million books in 104 languages, and has 14 offices in 12 countries on six continents. He has hosted two internationally syndicated television programs (one daily and one weekly) and has authored many bestselling books.
"Reinhard Bonnke was inspired by the Spirit to share the Good News of Christ into the very heart of a hostile Africa, and the ripple effect of that passion is still being felt around the world," said Kolenda. "As impactful as his ministry was while he was here on Earth, there is still more to be done - and a world hungry for the hope that only Christ can give."
The legacy of Reinhard Bonnke lives on through the ministry of Kolenda, where tens of millions of people are coming to Christ through evangelistic campaigns, as illustrated in the powerful new film, "Multiplied." Presented by 4 The One Studio and Every Nation Will Bow, "Multiplied" follows young filmmaker Chris Worthington and Kolenda as they explore the impact of the Gospel and the growing evangelical movement happening worldwide. As Worthington and Kolenda experience serious obstacles in some of the most hostile places towards the Gospel, they learn that the power of the Spirit cannot be contained. "Multiplied" will be in theaters through Fathom Events on May 20-21, 2024.

"Reinhard Bonnke's work to spread the Gospel across Africa is unparalleled," said Worthington. "But unlike the evangelical movement of Bonnke's day, we are now looking at a new age of revival. People are clamoring for the Gospel in unheard-of numbers, despite the lies we often hear about the 'decline' of Christianity. 'Multiplied' is our attempt to learn the truth about the state of global Christianity and what God is doing in the hearts of millions and share that truth with the world."
Bonnke felt the call to global outreach at a very young age, embarking on missionary life in Africa in the small mountain kingdom of Lesotho with his wife Anni and their young family. In 1974, the Holy Spirit spoke to Bonnke in a recurring dream about "a blood-washed Africa," inspiring him to found Christ for All Nations and become the inspiring visionary who always spoke of "plundering hell to populate heaven." Bonnke's evangelistic meetings saw incredible crowds desperate to hear the Word of God, with one gathering in Lagos in 2000 consisting of over 1.6 million people.
"Bonnke's death was a tragic loss, but his fervor for the Gospel continues on," said Kolenda. "'Multiplied' follows our efforts to continue his mission and share the love of Christ to the lost. It is our hope that viewers in America who have been continually told that Christianity is on a decline see what the Holy Spirit is doing and are inspired to take action themselves."
