'Fast & Furious 7' Release Date, Vin Diesel New Interview on Paul Walker's Death, Watch Here (VIDEO)
Fast and Furious 7 star Vin Diesel visited "Live with Kelly and Michael" last Friday and the actor again opened up about the tragic loss of his friend and co-star Paul Walker (you can watch clip above).
When host Michael Strahan asked about finishing the movie without Walker, Diesel shared,
"It's a heavy thing, Michael. You know?" Diesel replied. "I grew up in the bouncer world, and we lost people while we were bouncing. But the brotherhood in Paul Walker was something completely different. It was someone that we - we grew up in the business together, and we became famous together, and we represented the biggest franchise together, and he was my partner, and it's a strange thing to - I've been acting all my life and they don't teach you in acting, how to mourn someone and simultaneously pretend they're in a scene with you."
"It's one of the darker moments in my journey," Diesel added, becoming visibly emotional. "You know, guys - it's a rough one."
Universal originally moved Fast & Furious 7 release date from July 11, 2014 to April 10, 2015, following Paul Walker's death last November, but now they have announced that the movie will release one week earlier on April 3, 2015.
Walker died on Nov. 30 in Santa Clarita, Southern California in a tragic car accident while the cast and crew were on a hiatus period. His shocking death has sent shockwaves through Hollywood. He was 40 years old.
Diesel went to Facebook on June 17 to write this post:
"There wasn't a scene in the saga he didn't want to discuss, improve... even with just a changing of a line or adding a specific nuance to enrich a moment," Diesel wrote. "Those work ethics and drive to be both truthful, and in his own way, evolve the decade spanning character is what made his character as iconic as it has become."
"He always knew I would fight for him... whether it was to protect his deal or to protect his integrity... and he knew that if it made for a better film, I was going to do whatever it took," Diesel said. "With our new ambitious vfx team, the whole cast and crew has had to adjust to this awkward and uncomfortable process of pixels over people. Aside from the obvious strains it places on the director, the challenge is not to allow it to compromise what makes the character so special."
