Dani McGhee-Barlow's "Honors Her Awards" Set For August 30
Memphis native Dani McGhee-Barlow is a young woman on a mission. She is walking in her purpose to inspire and empower women and to reach and save the lost so that they may experience God's favor. Dani, best known as D.McGhee, is an energetic, contemporary vocalist who has made an impressionable mark in Urban Gospel music.
Dani began singing Gospel music at a very young age and traveled the world with the Tennessee Mass Choir. She co-founded the Stellar Award-nominated choir Darrel Petties and Strength In Praise and has sang with Gospel icons Karen Clark Sheard, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Jennifer Holiday, Ted Winn, Sherry Jones-Moffitt, and many more. She released her first album THE MIXTAPE in 2013 and followed up with UNVEILED in 2019. Both albums were released by Memphis-based record label Dedicated Music Group (DMG) under the leadership of Grammy, Dove and Stellar nominated rap and CHH artist Del "Mr Del" Lawrence.
The busy mother of three sons has now launched the SAFE PLACE organization. Dani's Safe Place will host its first "Honors Her" Awards event on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 7PM. The event will highlight the significant contributions of twenty-one Memphis area women whose community service and dedication to improving the lives of others deserve to be recognized and applauded.
From Emmy-nominated media personalities to pastors and celebrity make-up artists, to realtors and corporate attorneys, Dani's "Honors Her" Awards will be an unforgettable evening of honoring excellence. This event celebrates diversity and community, bringing together individuals from various professions and organizations. Some of the honorees include: Dr. Telisa Franklin, Victoria Young Robinson, Dr. Gina M. Stewart, Cachet Morganfield, Sherry Mackey, Dr. NeShante Brown, Pastor Angela Ceazer, Pastor Debra Reed, Cristabel Clack, and April Tolbert.
