Daughters of Davis Bare Their "British Soul" (Video)
Folk/Soul duo Daughters of Davis are two sisters Fern and Adrienne Davis who come to us via the UK. They started out giving up their everything, quitting their jobs, buying a campervan from ebay and touring the UK performing the songs they loved. On September 1, 2014, they will be releasing their second studio album, 'British Soul.' The new album, originally expected to be called 'Roads', was delayed from it's planned July release after the sisters landed an 18 date tour with Eels.
Storm 5 Management describes 'British Soul' as, "A raucous musical road trip, the record blends soul, country and gospel in the inimitable style of the Davis sisters. From the upbeat tale of sibling rivalry in lead single 'Catch Me If You Can', to the ethereal retelling of the story of 'Bathseba'; from the vocal gymnastics of the title track to the delicate and introspective 'The River'; it is a record shaped by the groups travels across the length and breadth of the country. Eclectic, passionate and packed with vivid visuals, this is 'British Soul'."
This is what critics are saying about the Daughters of Davis:
Simon Lederman BBC Radio London "All those years doing other things, however useful, however good, however laudable they were, this was always [Daughters' of Davis] calling clearly"
Jay Kerr Vice president of Ditto Music Digital Distribution "Talented duo that are blessed with 2 great voices."
Juilian Clegg BBC Radio Solent "..a bit of Mumford & Sons"
Music Critic, Jennifer Le Roux "Enchanting performers with a true affinity and family connection that is inspiring and enjoyable to watch..a magical entity of musical talent"

Phil Le Cheminant "Inspiring not only for the fresh new sound they've forged with their music. Inspiring not just because they ooze enthusiasm and determination with every infectious smile. But inspiring because they sold everything and bought a camper van in order to tour the country busking and gigging."
