Veteran Worship Leader John Chisum Returns with New Album

John Chisum

Acclaimed worship leader, songwriter, and music industry veteran John Chisum releases his highly anticipated new album, Nothing But the Grace, through NRT Music. The 12-song collection reflects a deep, authentic journey of faith, blending heartfelt lyrics with powerful melodies to inspire and uplift listeners worldwide.

Known for his decades of contributions to worship music, Chisum's latest project invites audiences into moments of reflection and praise. Each track offers a unique perspective on the Christian walk, weaving together themes of hope, surrender, and God's unwavering presence.

"These songs are an outpouring of what God has been stirring in my heart over the last few years," said Chisum. "This album is a response to the challenging seasons we've all been through, reminding us of the power of worship in every circumstance. My prayer is that these songs will encourage people to connect deeply with God, no matter where they find themselves."

The 12-song album includes previously released tracks "OMG (Oh My God)," "Nothing But the Grace," "That's When the Love Begins," "Mercy Made Mine," and "So Loved By You," alongside 7 new tracks.

On "Love 'Em Like Jesus," written with pop artist Coby James, John calls us to be the body of Christ in a broken world. With phrases like "We've gotta be the body of Jesus/We've gotta be the ones who do more than believe/Be the hands and feet, arms that reach around this great big world/More than preachin', show them heaven's love/Love 'em like Jesus" this rock anthem captures a compelling call to action in a musical idiom reminiscent of Tom Petty and Zach Williams.

"How Great" is a tender, mellow, and worshipful song, co-written with Nashville Christian Songwriter's Tamera Perry. This intimate ballad reminds listeners of the goodness and presence of God in His faithful promise to be present in every moment of our lives despite the trials and tests we endure. "Great is Your love/More than enough/Great is the grace You pour on us" Chisum sings, calling us all back to the constancy of God's love and grace for us.

The album closes with "In The Room," a poignant, dark, lamenting track that is an homage to one of John's dear friends who passed suddenly without warning. Expressing the deep pain of universal grief, Chisum captures the searing void we all feel when a dear one is ripped irreparably from our midst. Those who've lost children or spouses unexpectedly will immediately connect with this tender ballad, finding another chance to mourn their loss and sorrow as part of their healing process.

With a diverse range of musical styles, the album showcases Chisum's ability to craft worship that resonates across generations and worship cultures.
