Hannah Kerr and Austin French Join Together For Jazzy Rendition of "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"
Hannah Kerr joins acclaimed artist Austin French for a jazzy rendition of "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear," available now. The new collaboration - set to impact Christian radio this holiday season - will provide the soundtrack for the duo's co-headline "Midnight Clear Christmas Tour," visiting select cities throughout December.
Serving up a timeless message with a vintage Christmas sound, Kerr and French engage in lively banter as their talented backing band chases musical indulgences on piano, drums, upright bass and trumpet. The jazz combo provides a nostalgic backdrop for the pair's warm, joyful vocals on this fresh reimagining of the Christmas classic. Keith Everette Smith (Tasha Layton, TobyMac's Diverse City Band) produced the track and arranged the song with studio veteran Tony Guerrero.
The new Christmas offering comes on the heels of Kerr's second full-length album, As I Am, which finds the songstress wrestling her insecurities into the light of grace, seeing God's goodness in the face of hardship, and ultimately accepting the sovereignty of a loving Father in the wake of uncertainty. Fueled by thoughtful pop and vulnerable balladry, the fresh set reveals the power of her songwriting, with Kerr co-penning each of the collection's 14 selections, including lead radio single "Changed," the introspective "If I Were You" and longtime fan favorite "Jesus Is Why."
The talented singer wraps the fall "Let It Begin Tour" with labelmates Big Daddy Weave this weekend. She'll kick off the "Midnight Clear Christmas Tour" with French on Dec. 11.
