Sheard explained that "Send It Down" emerged from a profound moment during a communion service. Collaborating with her children, J. Drew and Kierra Sheard, along with producer Mark Jay, she transformed a powerful worship experience into a dynamic song.
"We were in church, and J. Drew added a little spin at the end of the service. My husband said, 'Y'all need to write a song on that,'" Sheard shared. The result is a track that resonates deeply in today's challenging times.
Sheard, who has spent more than 50 years in gospel music, credited God for sustaining her. "To just know that God has given us stamina and that people are being blessed-that's what keeps me going," she said.
She also reflected on the challenges that have shaped her testimony, saying, "My husband always says, 'We're like a teabag. When you put it in hot water, that's when the flavors come out.'"
