Resident Evil 6 movie release date, previously thought to be sometime in September of this year, has apparently been postponed indefinitely. As of last month, director and writer Paul W.S. Anderson told Collider he was still writing the script. Asked whether Resident Evil 6 will be ready by 2015 or 2016, he replied, "I don't know, depends how fast I write I guess. There's no set date yet but hopefully we'll have an announcement for that soon."
Anderson however revealed that 'The Final Chapter' is the title he's currently using in the upcoming Resident Evil 6 movie script. He said, "It may be the final title, but that's what's written on the front page of my script." Asked whether this means that the Resident Evil 6 movie will be the series' final film, he said, "That's what's on the title page, it's Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so absolutely."
Resident Evil 6 once finally released will be seen in 3D though. Anderson confirmed that he has 3D in mind as he writes how the film's storyline will play out on the screen.
But what about the video games upon which the film franchise was built on? The continued popularity now of sites hosting Resident Evil 6 cheats, codes and secrets notwithstanding, game publisher Capcom said it will be returning the series back to its original roots. In fact, they plan on releasing an upgraded version of the first game in their popular zombie franchise, "Resident Evil" early 2015 on PS4, XB1, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms according to a report by Bleeding Cool.
