President Donald Trump has ordered federal law enforcement agencies to assist in the search for Savannah Guthrie's missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, as authorities investigate what they believe may be an abduction in Arizona.

In a statement posted Wednesday on Truth Social, Trump said he personally spoke with the Today show anchor and directed all federal agencies to immediately support the investigation. "The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family," Trump wrote, adding that all available resources are being deployed to help bring Nancy Guthrie home safely.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing over the weekend after she failed to attend church near her home outside Tucson. The Pima County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the case is being treated as a crime.

Sheriff Chris Nanos told CBS News that investigators found "very concerning" evidence at the residence and believe Nancy Guthrie did not leave voluntarily. Authorities have emphasized that she does not suffer from dementia and is fully cognitively aware, but has physical limitations and depends on daily medication that could be dangerous to miss.

Savannah Guthrie later shared an emotional appeal on Instagram, posting alongside her siblings and urging the suspected kidnapper to make contact. She asked the public to continue praying, stressing her mother's fragile health and urgent medical needs.

Federal agents are now working alongside local law enforcement and the FBI as the investigation continues.
