Christian-inspired rock band Creed is no longer listed on promotional materials for the Rock the Country festival's Anderson, South Carolina date following the official cancellation of that stop, festival representatives confirmed.
Local officials said the two-day event, originally scheduled for July 25-26 at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center, was officially canceled on February 5. Organizers clarified that Creed had been scheduled to perform only at the Anderson dates and was not part of the remaining stops on the festival's multistate tour.
As a result of the cancellation, the band's name no longer appears on the festival's official website or tour poster. Festival representatives emphasized that Creed did not withdraw from the festival and was removed from promotional materials solely because the Anderson event was canceled.
In a statement attributable to Rock the Country, organizers said the festival was created "to unite people together through music," noting that the decision not to move forward with the Anderson stop was made with fans in mind.
"We're truly disappointed we won't be bringing the show to Anderson," the statement read. "Our fans work hard for their money, and we refuse to put on a show that doesn't meet the standard they deserve."
The festival added that its focus remains on supporting artists, honoring fans, and delivering live music experiences at remaining tour locations. "The shows ahead represent the heart of what Rock the Country stands for: music, community, and pride in where we come from," the statement continued.
Creed, whose catalog has long featured spiritual and redemptive themes, has not released a separate public statement regarding the Anderson cancellation.
For many in the faith-based and Christian rock community, the clarification highlights the importance of accuracy amid evolving tour schedules, while also underscoring how music rooted in shared values can continue to foster unity even when plans change.
