Investigators searching for missing Arizona resident Nancy Guthrie have recovered multiple gloves believed to be connected to the case, as the Pima County Sheriff's Department broadens its appeal for surveillance footage and community assistance.

Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson on January 31. Authorities have said evidence at the scene suggests foul play, and the case is being investigated as a suspected abduction with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Multiple Gloves Now Under Forensic Review

Law enforcement officials confirmed that more than one glove has now been recovered along roadways and in nearby areas connected to the investigation. The items are undergoing forensic testing, including fingerprint and DNA analysis, to determine whether they are linked to the masked individual captured on security footage outside Guthrie's residence.

Previously released video showed an armed, masked person near the home around the time of her disappearance. Investigators believe the gloves may provide critical physical evidence.

Authorities have not disclosed the precise locations where the gloves were found but described them as part of an expanding evidence sweep in surrounding neighborhoods and desert terrain.

Expanded Call for Video Footage

Sheriff's officials are intensifying their call for residents in the Catalina Foothills and greater Tucson area to review and submit doorbell camera, security, and dashcam footage from the evening of January 31 through the early morning hours of February 1.

Investigators are particularly interested in:

  • Vehicles driving slowly or repeatedly through residential streets

  • Individuals on foot during late-night hours

  • Any suspicious activity near Guthrie's neighborhood

Law enforcement says thousands of tips have been received since the case became national news, but additional digital evidence could prove decisive.

Family's Ongoing Plea

Guthrie is the mother of NBC "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie, who has stepped away from some professional obligations as she and her family focus on the search. The family has publicly expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and reiterated their determination not to give up hope.

Officials continue to urge anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department tip line or the FBI. A reward remains in place for information leading to her safe return or the identification and arrest of those responsible.

Investigation Ongoing

At this stage:

  • No arrests have been announced.

  • No suspect has been publicly identified.

  • Forensic analysis of recovered items is underway.

Authorities stress that the investigation remains active and fluid. Search operations continue across roadways, open desert areas, and surrounding communities as law enforcement follows every credible lead.

Further updates are expected as forensic testing progresses.
