Christian Life Center in Dayton has confirmed that worship leader Alleigha Botner has officially submitted her resignation from her role at the church. According to church leadership, the resignation was given "without explanation," and no further details regarding her decision have been provided.
The announcement comes during a deeply challenging season for the congregation following the February 19, 2026 arrest of former worship pastor Caleb Flynn. Flynn has been charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence in connection with the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Authorities continue to investigate the case, and legal proceedings are ongoing. Flynn has entered a plea of not guilty.
Senior Pastor Jordan Hansen addressed the congregation during a recent service, acknowledging the weight of recent events and expressing gratitude for the church family's continued prayers and unity. He affirmed that leadership received Botner's resignation and reiterated that no explanation accompanied her decision to step down.
Pastor Hansen emphasized that Christian Life Center remains focused on ministering to its congregation during this difficult time, prioritizing spiritual care, stability in worship services, and compassionate support for those impacted by the tragedy.
Church leadership also confirmed that weekend services will continue without interruption. Oversight of weekend worship, production, and service leadership will remain under the direction of Josh Bonzelaar, who has served in that capacity in recent years.
Christian Life Center stated it is committed to transparency where appropriate, pastoral sensitivity, and full cooperation with local authorities as the legal process moves forward. The church has asked the broader community for continued prayer for everyone affected and for wisdom and peace during the unfolding judicial process.
