Trinity Church, led by pastor Mark Driscoll, has purchased a vacant office complex in Scottsdale, Arizona, for $15.5 million as the congregation continues to expand. The acquisition marks a major step in the church's growth as leaders plan to convert the building into a new worship campus.
The property, located at 10001 North 92nd Street, includes a 116,200-square-foot, two-story office building situated on approximately seven acres of land and includes a parking structure. The purchase reportedly closed on January 5 and was financed through a combination of a $2.765 million down payment and $12.735 million in financing provided by AG Financial Solutions, a financial services organization affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
Church leaders say the new facility will allow Trinity Church to accommodate its rapidly growing congregation. According to the ministry, weekly attendance has surpassed 5,000 people, and the church's current location has increasingly struggled to handle the growth. The new property is expected to significantly expand the church's capacity and provide additional space for worship services, ministry programs, and community gatherings.
Driscoll recently introduced a fundraising initiative called the "Lives and Legacies Building Fund," aimed at helping support the development of the new campus. In communications to members, church leadership said the new facility will offer significantly more space than the current location, including increased seating capacity and expanded parking.
The office complex has changed ownership several times in recent years. Originally built in 1996 as a Class A office property, the building sold for $24 million in 2014 before changing hands again in 2020. After losing several major tenants, including CVS and HonorHealth, the building sat vacant before being purchased by Trinity Church.
Before the church acquired the property, a proposal had been submitted to convert the building into storage units, but that plan was rejected by the Scottsdale City Council. Trinity Church ultimately purchased the property at a reported price lower than its previous sale value.
Driscoll founded Trinity Church in 2016 after relocating to Arizona. Prior to that, he served as the founding pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, which grew into a large multi-campus congregation before closing in 2014.
Since launching in Scottsdale, Trinity Church has grown rapidly and gained national attention through Driscoll's preaching ministry, books, and online teaching platforms. The purchase of the new property signals the church's intention to continue expanding its ministry presence in the region as leaders prepare for the next phase of growth.
