A Virginia man who built a large following on TikTok while presenting himself as a pastor and "prophet" has been arrested after authorities say he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman he met through the social media platform.
According to police, Marco Antonio Ocampos Zamora, 35, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, was taken into custody and later extradited to Fairfax County, where he is currently being held without bond. Investigators say Zamora used his social media presence to promote faith-based messages and spiritual guidance while identifying himself online as a religious leader.
Authorities say the investigation began after a woman reported that she had connected with Zamora on TikTok and later communicated with him through the messaging platform WhatsApp. The woman told investigators that Zamora encouraged her to meet with him privately for what she believed would be a spiritual counseling session.
According to police, the meeting took place in November 2025 in the Merrifield area of Fairfax County. The woman alleges that during the encounter Zamora sexually assaulted her.
Prosecutors have charged Zamora with serious felony offenses, including abduction with intent to defile and object sexual penetration. Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
Police also noted that Zamora had built a significant online following, reportedly exceeding 300,000 followers on TikTok, where he posted religious content and referred to himself as a "profeta," or prophet.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone with information or similar experiences involving Zamora to contact law enforcement. Authorities say coming forward could help protect others and assist with the ongoing investigation.
The case highlights growing concerns about individuals using social media platforms to build influence in religious spaces while allegedly exploiting followers' trust.
