Christian Country artist Shane Davis is bringing a message of faith, redemption, and perseverance to listeners with the release of his powerful new single, "I Believe." Blending heartfelt storytelling with a soulful, blues-infused country sound, the track marks a defining moment in Davis's journey-one shaped by struggle, refined through hardship, and ultimately restored by grace. Rooted in personal testimony and anchored in the promises of Scripture, "I Believe" is more than just a song; it is a declaration of faith for anyone walking through doubt, pain, or uncertainty, pointing listeners toward the enduring hope found in God.
Q: For readers discovering you for the first time, how would you describe your journey as an artist-from singing in church as a child in South Carolina to becoming a Christian Country artist sharing your testimony through music?
My journey really started in church in South Carolina. Music was always part of my life growing up, especially gospel and traditional country. Singing in church as a kid planted the seed for what I do today. Over the years I went through a lot of real-life experiences-some good and some difficult-but through all of it my faith stayed at the center. Eventually I realized that the best songs I could write were the honest ones about faith, redemption, and the grace God has shown me. Christian country allows me to combine the storytelling style of country music with the message of hope found in the gospel. My goal is simply to share my testimony through music and remind people that no matter where they've been, God still has a plan for their life.
Q: Your new single "I Believe" carries a powerful message of redemption and perseverance. What personal experiences or moments in your faith journey most shaped the story behind this song?
"I Believe" came from reflecting on moments in my life where faith was the only thing holding me together. Like a lot of people, I've had seasons of struggle and questions, but I've also seen God move in ways that can't be explained any other way. The song is really about holding onto faith even when life doesn't make sense. It's about believing that God is still working behind the scenes, even when we can't see the outcome yet. I wanted the song to encourage anyone who might be going through a tough time and remind them that God hasn't forgotten them.
Q: The song blends Christian Country with strong blues influences. How did artists like B.B. King, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Chris Stapleton influence the sound and emotional delivery of "I Believe"?
I grew up listening to a wide variety of music. B.B. King had a way of making every note feel emotional and real. Lynyrd Skynyrd brought that Southern soul and storytelling that connects deeply with listeners. Chris Stapleton blends country, blues, and gospel in a way that feels powerful and authentic. When recording "I Believe," I wanted the vocal delivery and instrumentation to carry that same kind of emotional weight-something that feels honest and soulful while still staying rooted in country music and faith.
Q: The lyrics reference powerful biblical moments-such as God parting the sea and healing the broken. Why was it important for you to connect your personal testimony with these well-known stories of faith?
Those biblical stories are reminders that God has always been in the business of doing the impossible. When we read about Him parting the Red Sea or healing the broken, it shows that His power hasn't changed. By connecting those stories with my own testimony, I wanted listeners to see that the same God who performed miracles in the Bible is still working in our lives today. Faith isn't just history-it's something we experience right now.
Q: You've spoken openly about seasons of struggle, including addiction and family challenges. How has your faith transformed those experiences into a message that now encourages others through your music?
Those difficult seasons were some of the most defining moments of my life. Addiction, family struggles, and personal failures can make you feel like you're too far gone, but my faith showed me that redemption is always possible. God used those experiences to reshape my life and my perspective. Instead of hiding those parts of my story, I share them through my music because I know there are people out there going through the same things. If my story can help someone realize that hope and restoration are still possible, then it's worth telling.
Q: With "I Believe" now reaching Christian radio, what can listeners expect next from you musically? Are there more songs or projects on the horizon that continue sharing your story of faith and redemption?
Right now I'm focused on continuing to promote "I Believe" and sharing its message with as many people as possible. The response from listeners and Christian radio has been incredibly encouraging. I'm also working on new music that continues to tell stories of faith, redemption, and real life. My goal moving forward is to keep writing songs that are honest, uplifting, and rooted in the hope that faith brings. There's definitely more music on the way, and I'm excited for what's ahead.
