A North Carolina church community is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of Pastor Tammy McCollum, a respected ministry leader who was fatally shot inside her home early Monday morning. She was 58.
According to authorities, officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call shortly after 2 a.m. reporting an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in north Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered McCollum suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her husband, 61-year-old Eddie McCollum, was taken into custody at the home and has been charged with first-degree murder.
Pastor McCollum served as a minister at The Well Worship Center in Statesville, North Carolina, where she was known for her vibrant faith and dedication to serving both her congregation and the wider community.
