The Grammy-winning gospel singer-songwriter born Dominique Jones released "Know Your Name" on May 1, 2026, accompanied by an official music video on her YouTube channel. The song had already been generating buzz after an exclusive early listening session held on April 30, the night before its release.

What Inspired "Know Your Name"

DOE shared directly with her followers what sparked the song, pointing to a specific passage of Scripture: Psalm 22:27-30, and the word posterity found within it - a word that speaks of generations yet to come.

In her own words: "I have such great respect for the generations before me who taught me how to call on the name of the Lord and the generations coming after me who need to know His name too. He has a name for every season of life that we find ourselves in."

The result is a worship declaration rooted in legacy. DOE describes the song as both a prayer and a proclamation - that every generation, past and future, will know the name of Jesus.

Who Is DOE?

Born Dominique Jones, DOE is a Grammy Award winner, eight-time Grammy nominee, and two-time Dove Award winner whose sound sits at the intersection of gospel, soul, and contemporary Christian music. She grew up in a deeply musical family - her father was a pastor, and both sides of her family were heavily involved in the gospel circuit. As a teenager, she performed with her family group Forever Jones, which released multiple albums and earned Grammy nominations before she launched her solo career.

Her solo debut album Clarity won Best Contemporary Gospel Album at the 2022 Dove Awards, and she has continued to build one of the most respected voices in gospel music since.

"Know Your Name" is not just a worship song - it is an intergenerational prayer. In a season where the conversation about faith and the next generation is everywhere in the church, DOE puts it to music in a way that is both personal and expansive. The message is simple but carries real weight: the name of Jesus is not just for one era. It belongs to every generation.

The single and official music video are available now on all major streaming platforms and on DOE's YouTube channel.
