Bates Motel Season 3 Release Date Plot Details Revealed during Comic-Con
A&E's thriller, drama series Bates Motel has seen a huge hit with fans and is gearing up for a 3rd season. During San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Carlton Cuse along with cast members Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Olivia Cooke, Nestor Carbonel and Kenny Johnson were in attendance during the Bates Motel panel.
The 3rd season will immediately pick up from where season 2 left off and will apparently focus on Norma Bates (Farmiga) realizing that she has to fix his son, Norman (Highmore), and also will confront her brother Caleb (Johnson) whilst dealing with the underlying problems of drug dealers in their town.
During the panel, actress Vera Farmiga had this to say, "She (Norma) genuinely thinks that she can glue back the pieces and heal him (Norman)." Norma Bates is characterized as being an overprotective mother who has somewhat of an ambiguous and vague attachment to her son Norman.
Executive Producer Carlton Cuse also said that the character of Bradley Martin (played by Nicola Peltz) will return in the new season and also teased fans by saying there will be new characters who will be introduced to the show. Cuse would not mention any names of the new characters.
Bates Motel serves as modern retelling of the origins of Norman Bates, a character most famous for its 1960 film adaptation 'Psycho' which was directed by renowned filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. If the film 'Psycho' will be the TV shows reference point, we can only assume it won't go so well for Norma and Norman as the TV series progresses.
No official release date has been set for the premiere of the 3rd season, but is said to start showing March 2015 on A&E.
