Faith-based entertainment studio Wonder Project is officially expanding the world of its hit biblical drama "House of David" with a brand-new companion event series centered on one of Scripture's most iconic figures: Moses.

"The Old Stories: Moses" is a sweeping three-part special that officially premieres May 14 on Wonder Project's subscription channel through Prime Video in the United States.

According to the official synopsis, the project explores the foundational stories that shaped Israel before the rise of Davidic kingship. "As the past unfolds with epic force, a young shepherd sees his own future reflected in the courage, failure, and obedience of those who came before him."

The ambitious new production was created by filmmaker Jon Erwin, the director behind major faith-based successes including Jesus Revolution, I Can Only Imagine, "Woodlawn," and "The Jesus Music." Erwin described the new series as both "epic and personal," emphasizing the timeless relevance of Moses' story.

"Moses is one of the most iconic figures in history, and his story still resonates with us today," Erwin explained. "We set out to tell 'The Old Stories: Moses' with a cinematic awe and scale that feels both epic and personal."

The series stars Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley as Moses, bringing one of Hollywood's most respected actors into the center of the biblical epic. Opposite him is O-T Fagbenle as Pharaoh, best known globally for roles in Black Widow and The Handmaid's Tale.

Additional cast members include Louis Ferreira, Anna Khaja from The Chosen, and Rada Rae.

Early trailers have already generated significant excitement among Christian audiences online, showcasing cinematic recreations of the burning bush encounter, Moses confronting Pharaoh, the plagues upon Egypt, and the dramatic crossing of the Red Sea. Many viewers have praised the project's scale and visual ambition, with some comparing its tone to prestige fantasy and historical television dramas while remaining rooted in biblical storytelling.

The release also marks another major move in the rapid rise of Wonder Project as a growing force in faith-driven entertainment. Over the past year, the company has aggressively expanded its slate of original programming focused on biblical narratives, inspirational storytelling, and values-centered content aimed at mainstream audiences.

Industry observers have especially noted the studio's attempt to create an interconnected biblical storytelling universe tied to "House of David," potentially paving the way for future companion series exploring other major figures and moments from Scripture.

"The Old Stories: Moses" premieres May 14 exclusively through Wonder Project's Prime Video subscription channel in the United States.
