The Great American State Fair was announced just days ago as a massive summer celebration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. - but its concert lineup has already seen a major shakeup.

Since Freedom 250 revealed its performer roster on May 27-28, six artists have withdrawn: Morris Day, Young MC, Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Milli Vanilli, and The Commodores.

Most said the same thing - they thought it was nonpartisan.

McBride wrote that she had been assured the event would celebrate all 50 states and bring people together, but said "yesterday things started changing and what we were told is, in fact, not what is happening."

Bret Michaels said the event had "evolved into something much more divisive" than what he had originally agreed to.

Who's still in: C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, and Flo Rida remain scheduled to perform. Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli also confirmed he will still take the stage June 26, saying he is there "to entertain and unite people, not divide them."

The Great American State Fair runs June 25 - July 10 on the National Mall. The show, as they say, goes on.

For those still planning to attend, the celebration of America's 250th anniversary remains a once-in-a-lifetime event - and music has always had a way of bringing people together across every divide.
