Award-winning gospel singer, pastor, and Sunday Best champion Tasha Page-Lockhart is asking for continued prayers after surviving what doctors described as a life-threatening medical emergency that endangered both her life and the life of her unborn daughter.

In an emotional message shared with fans, Page-Lockhart recounted the frightening ordeal, revealing that she underwent emergency surgery after a perforated appendix began leaking infection into her body.

The singer said the incident began over the weekend when she experienced unusual fatigue and severe cramping. Initially believing the discomfort was simply part of her pregnancy, she pushed through the pain and attended church on Sunday. However, by late Sunday night and into the early hours of Monday morning, the pain became increasingly intense.

"At 1 a.m. I told my husband that I was having bad cramps that felt like contractions," she wrote. "We both prayed and I told my daughter to stay in my stomach for four more months."

Despite attempting to rest, the pain continued to worsen. Concerned for her health and the baby's well-being, her husband rushed her to a nearby emergency room.

Once admitted to the hospital, Page-Lockhart was quickly transferred to the labor and delivery department, where doctors conducted a series of tests to determine the cause of her symptoms. What followed was a grueling 12-hour battle with excruciating pain.

"I was in excruciating pain from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.," she shared. "For 12 hours I suffered. I paced around that hospital room commanding myself to live and saying, 'Lord, I need You.'"

Doctors administered pain medication, but the treatments offered little relief. As her condition deteriorated, physicians ordered additional testing, including an MRI scan. The singer admitted she became so anxious about the procedure that medical staff had to provide medication to help calm her enough to complete the examination.

The results revealed a potentially deadly diagnosis.

According to Page-Lockhart, several doctors entered her room shortly afterward with urgent news.

"They said, 'We are about to prep you for surgery. You have a perforated appendix and poison is seeping into your body as we speak. We're afraid for you and baby.'"

A perforated appendix occurs when the appendix ruptures, allowing bacteria and infection to spread into the abdominal cavity. Without prompt treatment, the condition can become life-threatening.

At approximately 5 p.m., surgeons performed emergency surgery, making three incisions to remove the damaged appendix and stop the infection from spreading further.

Page-Lockhart remains hospitalized and is receiving antibiotics while doctors closely monitor both her recovery and the condition of her unborn daughter. Thankfully, mother and baby are both alive and recovering.

The gospel artist credited God for carrying her through the ordeal and expressed deep gratitude for the support of her family during the crisis. She shared that her husband never left her side, while her mother immediately traveled to be with her after learning of the emergency.

"My husband has been by my side and my mom dropped everything and flew in to be here with me," she wrote. "I love them both so much."

Although she faces a recovery period ahead, Page-Lockhart says her focus remains on gratitude rather than fear.

"I'm sore but I'M STILL ALIVE and so is my baby girl!!!! God, You have done it again," she declared. "Please continue to pray for me, my husband and baby on the way."

Known for her powerful vocals, ministry, and testimony of faith, Page-Lockhart's story has resonated deeply with supporters across the gospel music community. Thousands have responded online with prayers and words of encouragement as she continues to heal.

For now, the singer remains in recovery, praising God for what she describes as another miracle and looking forward to welcoming her daughter in the months ahead.
